Sun Valley locals to be inducted into U.S. Ski Hall of Fame

The U.S. Ski Hall of Fame will host its annual induction ceremony and dinner on Saturday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room. Tickets are $250 per person. This year two locals will be inducted into the hall of fame: Earl Holding, owner of Sun Valley Co., and Muffy Davis, world champion and paralympian quadruple medal winner. The Hall of Fame is holding the induction ceremony in Sun Valley to celebrate the resort's 75th season.

The Hall of Fame has partnered with the Ketchum-Sun Valley Historical Society's Heritage & Ski Museum. For details, call 726-8118.

SNRA will host 2 snow adventure days

A winter ecology event for the entire family will take place on Saturday, March 19, and Wednesday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sawtooth National Recreation Area north of Ketchum.

Each day will have rotating discovery stations that will include animal tracking in the snow, puppet shows, snow science experiments, arts and crafts, and scavenger hunts. Older children can enjoy snowshoeing to learn about winter habitat and wildlife. For details, call 727-5000.

Old Cutters to hold family event

A free winter family carnival will take place at Old Cutters Park in Hailey on Saturday, March 19, from 1-4 p.m. Enjoy a "dogsled dash" for children 5 years old and under, a three-legged race on skis, obstacle course on skis, "parent sled dash," prizes, treats and hot cocoa. Attendees are encouraged to bring a sled and a dog. Kids 6-11 years old should bring skis and poles for races. For details, call 622-3400.

Rotarun celebrates spring

The Rotarun Ski Club will hold a Spring Celebration from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Rotarun ski area west of Hailey.

Rotarun will be open for skiing free of charge. The lights will be on and the community can enjoy free skiing, sledding by the old rope tow and snowboarding. The club will provide burgers, hot dogs and celebration cake. Bring a vegetable, salad, chili or pasta dish.

Lunar Eclipse Rail Jam to hold final event

Sun Valley Resort will host the last Lunar Eclipse Rail Jam series event of the winter season on Saturday, March 19, at Dollar Mountain in Sun Valley. The series winner will receive a trip to Windells Camp in Mount Hood, Ore. Registration is from noon to 4 p.m. and is $15. A practice session is from 4-5 p.m. and the Rail Jam is from 5-7 p.m. with live music.
