This is Turzian’s fourth appearance at NCAA finals. Last year she took second in a closely contested women’s 15-kilometer freestyle race.
Between 2003 and 2008, the three skiers competed together on championship USSA Intermountain Division junior national teams—Turzian and Pletcher for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.
Men’s 10k and women’s 5k freestyle cross-country races are March 9. The women’s 15k and men’s 20k mass-start classic races are March 11.
The University of Denver has won the NCAA skiing title the last three years. Team standings combine points from two Nordic ski events and two alpine races, slalom and giant slalom.
