The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club hosted its annual Winter Games competition Saturday, Feb. 12 at Sun Valley Skating Center. Attracting local competitors and visitors from Boise, McCall and Jackson Hole, the Winter Games offered competition in an informal, friendly atmosphere.

For Sun Valley skaters, it was a good practice run for July's four-day Sun Valley Summer Championships, which has become the largest Club competition in the Northwest Pacific.

Over Valentine's Day week-end 14 local skaters won gold, including Joyce Chan, a mem-ber of the Hong Kong Skaters Union.

She competes with the In-ternational Skaters Union, a friendly federation that allows skaters to participate in non-qualifying U.S. competitions like Winter Games. The SVFSC has welcomed Chan, a Com-munity School eighth-grade student, as a full-time resident Associate Member.

Winning gold in contested events were Tara Ware, Ari-zona Semones, Isabella Bour-ret, Emma Stuessi, Lane Le-tourneau, Alexandra Stuessi, Blake Letourneau, Sage Curtis, Adam Kind, Jaqueline Cronin, and Chan in her free skate event.

Gold medals were also awarded to skaters who com-peted alone in their events, in-cluding Tatum Fuller, Grace Eagan, Grace Cleveland, and Chan in her Artistic and Show-case events.

Silver medal winners in-cluded Isabella Bourret, Blake Letourneau, Lane Letourneau, Antonia Avery (2 times), and Jessica Blackburn.

Bronze went to Caitlin Sholtis (2 times), Alexandra Stuessi, Katie Peters, Claire Stickney, Isabella Cronin and Murphy Kendall. Receiving fourth-place medals: Emma Stuessi, Blake Letourneau, Sheldon Gentling, Christine DuFur and Saba Grossman.
