Experience High Society, Italian Style

Courtesy photo The Magic Lantern Cinema Screening Rooms will present the San Francisco Opera’s “La Rondine” by Giacomo Puccini tonight, Feb. 16, and Thursday, Feb, 17, at 5:30 p.m. Caritas Chorale Executive Director Dick Brown will give a talk at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17. The Italian work was inspired by Viennese operetta. “La Rondine” is rarely performed and is a Puccini gem. The story is all about love between a kept woman from high society and a naïve younger man of moderate means. The performance is sung in Italian with English subtitles. The running time is two hours and five minutes with one intermission. All seats are $12.
