Slower speeds haven’t fixed Timmerman

I'm concerned about the ITD's thoughts on slowing down north and south traffic at Timmerman Hill. Why is the speed limit on Highway 20 still 65 mph? There are stop signs and the traffic should be slowing down but is not.

Last week, I was headed to Shoshone and did slow down to 45 mph. There was a car in front of me a ways. A semi came from the east and went through because traffic had slowed down. The car in front of us had to put its brakes on. Is the idea that if the traffic slows down from the north and south, the east and west traffic has a better aim? As far as I am concerned, this is not working. I wonder how the commuters from Magic Valley feel.
