Atkinsons give to community

With the local grocery store debate now on hold, I would like to share some personal thoughts about Atkinsons'. I came to Ketchum in 1968 and have lived here continuously since then. My wife, Marilyn, and I raised our family of four children in this wonderful community, and we have been loyal customers of Atkinsons' during all of that time, starting way back when Chuck and Flossie Atkinson started the business. Why have we been such loyal customers? Here are only a few of the many reasons:

-Their stores are always well stocked and spotlessly clean.

- If you are looking for a product they don't have, they will get it in short order.

-Their entire staff, starting from Chip, Whit and Tom at the upper end of management all the way down, are always courteous, personally available and eager to provide the best customer service possible.

- Despite claims to the contrary, their prices are competitive.

- Perhaps most impressive of all has been their generous involvement and support in the Wood River Valley, e.g., contributions to the educational system, contributions to the parks and recreation systems, contributions to local charitable institutions, food for the firefighters during the recent forest fire, etc. The list goes on and on.

The Atkinsons have been a huge positive presence in this valley for over a half century. They deserve everyone's support.
