Wrestlers handle Burley, Buhl in dual meets

45-28 and 51-30 home wins

Wood River High School wrestlers made quick work of 4A Great Basin Conference rival Burley 45-28 and 3A visitor Buhl 51-30 Tuesday night in a triangular meet on the Hailey mat. The Wolverines piled up 10 forfeit wins for the evening.

Sophomores Jared Anderson (119) and Tim Boyle (125) along with junior Teague Ruhter (160) had first-round pins against Burley, and sophomore Tom Bailey (145) battled to a 2-0 decision vic-tory at home.

Tom Bailey had the toughest test against Buhl going against Tribe senior Allen Compton, last year's State 3A 125-pound third-place finisher. Bailey built a 4-2 first-period lead, but Compton ral-lied for an 8-4 lead after two rounds and pinned Bailey with a minute left.
