Nordic racer, coach to speak in Ketchum

Peter Ashley, VP of Fischer Skis, to share stories

Peter Ashley, former coach of the U.S. Nordic Ski Team and current vice president at Fischer Skis, will share the tales accumulated over 55 years of Nordic skiing as part of the Sun Valley Nordic Festival on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

"This is a very special sport, and it can lead to some wonderful things," Ashley said.

Ashley has been skiing at Sun Valley since the early 1960s, when he was a junior alpine racer. He also brought the U.S. Nordic Ski Team to Sun Valley for the Dannon Series races in the early 1980s.

Ashley will speak at 6 p.m. at The Community Library in Ketchum. Admission is free.
