Wallace H. Church


Wallace H. Church died Jan. 8, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Wally was born on Aug. 13, 1947, to Afton Heaps and Champ H. Church in Panguitch, Utah. He graduated from College of Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah, where he met his wife of 42 years, Judy Church. After college, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Georgia for the duration of his Army career.

He then moved to Vernal, Utah, for the next 27 years, where he raised his three children and sold insurance as a partner in Sentry West Insurance Services. He moved to the Wood River Valley in 1994, where he worked as a caretaker, sold art for Zantman Galleries and helped raise his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Church; his three children, Marlo Church, Brandi Jameson and Champ (Melissa) Church; and his nine grandchildren.

As an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, mentor and friend, he will be truly missed by all.

Friends may call at Wood River Chapel from 1-7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
