Firefighters Douse Blaze At Bus Barn

Quick response by the Hailey Fire Department kept a "contents fire" from getting out of control Sunday morning at the Blaine County School District Bus Maintenance Facility on Fox Acres Road in Hailey. Fire Marshal Mike Baledge said a smoke alarm alerted firefighters at about 8 a.m. Smoke was pouring from vents in the building when crews arrived, but entry showed that only a pile of books, plastic and tools was burning on a bench inside. The fire was quickly extinguished and only minor smoke damage occurred. Baledge said the cause of the blaze hadn't been determined but it was most likely an "electrical fire."
