Sun Valley Resort Boiler Room is ready to entertain

Enjoy lots of comedy this winter with free laughs every Wednesday at 6 p.m. with Mike Murphy and the Winter Comedy Series every Friday and Saturday evening beginning Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. Beginning Jan. 21 enjoy live music after the Comedy Series at 10 p.m. The Fabulous Vuarnettes will perform every Thursday beginning Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. In addition, "Forever Plaid" will have performances every Sunday at 7:30 p.m. except for Jan. 2 and 9 and Feb. 6. Arts grant deadlines approach

The Idaho Commission on the Arts' deadline for individual grants, including craft, design, visual arts fellowships and traditional arts apprenticeships, is Jan. 31. Deadlines for public programs for the arts, the Entry Track grants and arts education project grants also have a deadline of Jan. 31. For details, call (208) 334-2119 or visit arts.idaho.gov.

Save the date for Family of Women Film Festival

The fourth annual Family of Women Film Festival will take place Feb. 18-20 at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum. Films will include documentaries from Turkey, India and Iran as well as a day of films and panelists on the subject of women and the environment. The Family of Women Film Festival promotes the work of the United Nations Population Fund, which provides women's health care and promotes the rights of women in 150 countries.
