Over the years, there have been several letters to the community regarding carbon-monoxide poisoning. This is just a personal reminder to all, that wintertime poses the biggest threat for the Silent Killer. Two winters ago, our family was poisoned in our home, resulting in various rescue measures by our community, and eventually we were all life-flighted out.
We were quite lucky. Over these past two years, others have been poisoned, and, tragically, one local man lost his life.
As you are giving gifts this winter, think about the gift of a carbon-monoxide detector (the four we now own were all gifts from our good friends). They are sold locally, and are just as important as a smoke detector in your home.
Two years ago, we went to bed and almost never got up. Remember this and "monitor-up."
