Olympians Jenny Potter (right) and A.J. Mleczko (left), two stars in the rise of women’s ice hockey in the U.S., visited Hailey’s Wood River High School Dec. 16. They talked to a gathering of about 35 students and teachers about what it takes to achieve the highest level of their sport or activity. Listening intently were members of the Wood River High School girls’ basketball team. Four-time Olympian Potter and two-time Olympian Mleczko visited Ketchum and Sun Valley Dec. 15-17 to increase awareness of women’s hockey and encourage participation in the sport.
