It's the holidays, so celebrate with friends and family by going out on the town. Live music is filling up restaurants and bars throughout the Wood River Valley with everything from blues to house DJ music.

Local music star Ethan Tucker will play Sego Restaurant and Bar in Ketchum tonight, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. At Whiskey Jacques' in Ketchum this evening, music seekers can listen to the band Dirty Shame at 10 p.m. On Thursday, Dec. 23, Whiskey's will present The Codi Jordan Band with Ethan Tucker as an opening act.

At the Silver Dollar in Bellevue, DJ Marlene will spin tunes beginning at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. Also in Bellevue on Thursday, don't miss George Marsh and the Swamp Cats at The BrickHouse at 8 p.m. This band plays hot blues and is worth the trip south. Transportation specials are available from Hailey and Ketchum. For details, call 788-4999.

Perhaps the most interesting live music act for the week will take place at Whiskey Jacques' on Monday, Dec. 27, at 10 p.m. with This Must Be the Band: A Talking Heads Tribute. The band will play all Talking Heads tunes, which will certainly be worth checking out. Tickets for all live music shows are available at the door.

In Sun Valley, enjoy live music at the Duchin Room with Leana Leach solo on piano through Sunday, Jan. 2, every afternoon from 3-5 p.m. and from 4-9 p.m. on Christmas Day. The Leana Leach Trio will play every Sunday in the Duchin Room from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. through the winter. In addition, Leach plays Sunday brunch at the Lodge Dining Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the year. Also, enjoy Brooks Hartell on piano at the Sun Valley Inn Lobby Lounge at 5 p.m. through Jan. 1. Hartell will every day except Dec. 26.

For a complete listing of music events in the valley, see the Music, Dance and Theater section of the Calendar on Page C5.
