Black Ice Makes For Bad Day

Express photo by Rick Greener A 1998 Toyota 4Runner SUV rolled over Wednesday on the side of Sun Valley Road across from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Sun Valley. Sun Valley Assistant Police Chief Mike Crawford said the driver, 33-year-old Haley Stevens of Hailey, was heading toward Sun Valley when she said she hit black ice and lost control. He said the car’s front end then sunk into the snow and went end over end. “You rarely, rarely see them going over their noses like that,” Crawford said, adding that Stevens wasn’t hurt and was the only one in the car. He said the vehicle’s damage wasn’t much—broken windows and a dented hood and roof. “It was definitely a slow-motion accident. Didn’t cause a lot of damage.”
