No citations issued in accident last week

Express Staff Writer

Ketchum police estimated damages at $4,000 when the trailer of a semi truck scraped the awning of a building last week in downtown Ketchum.

The truck, owned by Navistar Leasing in Salt Lake City, apparently got the worst of it, sustaining $3,000 in damage compared to $1,000 worth to the Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties building at the corner of Main and Second streets.

Police reported that the accident occurred at 10:41 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, when the truck, driven by Joel Wellman, 48, of Kuna, Idaho, slid on a slick roadway while turning from Second Street to go south on Main.

Main Street traffic was diverted from the crash scene until the truck was towed away.

Police reported there were no injuries and no citations were issued.
