Slick road leads to rollover

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office reported that slick roads contributed to a single-car rollover accident on state Highway 75 Sunday south of Bellevue.

A 1996 maroon Chevrolet Blazer was found upside down on the east side of the highway near the intersection of Walker Road about 1:30 p.m., said sheriff's Lt. Jay Davis, citing a police report on the incident.

A passenger, Juana Zavala, 19, of Hailey, was transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Davis said the driver, Celia Zavala, 43, of Hailey and a second passenger, Christina Martinez, 22, also of Hailey, were not injured.

Davis said that according to the accident report, the driver had stopped behind a northbound vehicle turning left into the Wood River Gun Club. Upon accelerating again, the Blazer started to slide. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to leave the road and roll onto its top, Davis said.
