Skiers Await Thanksgiving Day Opening

Two impatient skiers trek up Lower Warm Springs last weekend for a short run down the slope, on mostly manmade snow. Sun Valley Resort plans to meet its goal of opening Bald Mountain for skiing by Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, according to spokesman Jack Sibbach. He said the plan is to open the mountain from top to bottom but said he couldn’t elaborate on whether that means the River Run or Warm Springs side, and how much more snow it would take to make it happen. “We plan to be open for Thanksgiving. That’s all I can say,” he said. Express photo by Willy Cook
