Center to hold closing ceremony for 'Water' exhibition

The public is invited to join artist Basia Irland for a closing ceremony and release of "ice books" and seed-embedded clay fish into the Big Wood River on Saturday, Nov. 6. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at The Center in Ketchum with a talk by Irland and end at the Big Wood River in Ketchum. For details, call 726-9491.

The annual Hemingway Elementary School Bookfair will take place today and Thursday, Nov. 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 5, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair, in conjunction with Chapter One Bookstore in Ketchum, will be in the school foyer. New books for adults and children will be available for sale.

Learn about fishing in Tahiti

The Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited in Ketchum will meet on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 5-7 p.m. at the Roosevelt Grille in Ketchum. Herb Myer from the Boise Chapter will give a two-part slide show on fly fishing for bone fish at Tetiaroa, Tahiti, in French Polynesia. For details, call 622-4613.

Get cooking

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden Cooking Series will feature Rasberrys Catering, which will demonstrate how to make fun holiday dishes to impress dinner guests on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The class includes wine and samples.
