Donoval doesn’t understand Idaho politics

The other day I received a mailer from Jim Donoval, who is running against Michelle Stennett for state Senate. It asked about what is bothering me. The answer is he bothers me.

In his campaign, Donoval rants on about what he thinks are the local issues, attacking local officials in an almost conspiratorial tone and stating he will do something about all this from a seat in the state Legislature. It is just all so negative.

Besides showing a fundamental misunderstanding of how state and local politics work in Idaho, it reveals that his true agenda is settling local political scores, not representing the people of District 25. This is an agenda of petty personal politics. This is not the agenda we need from our state senator.

Instead, we need clear thinking and common sense. Our representative in Boise must understand our district and our state government. Our state senator must have the temperament and skills to work with others to solve the real economic problems facing our state. We need a state senator who has the trust and respect of the people of District 25 and leaders statewide, both Republican and Democrat.

That is why, in my opinion, Michelle Stennett is by far the best choice for State Senate.
