A benefit for ill valley resident Tommy Powell is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Inn at Ellsworth Estate in Hailey.

Powell, 60, owner of Powell Plumbing, has lived in the Wood River Valley since 1969. Earlier this year, Powell was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which has since metastasized to the bone.

The benefit will include live music, dinner, a silent auction and a raffle. Dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for kids and free for children 10 and under. Wine and beer will be $2 and $3. Proceeds will help defray the medical costs of Powell's treatment.
