Bellevue Haunted Forest gets ready to spook

A Bellevue Haunted Forest kickoff party with the band Shaken not Stirred will take place at The Brickhouse on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. A $5 cover charge will benefit the Haunted Forest, which will take place on Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30.

Tickets for the Haunted Forest are $5 and will be on sale at The Brickhouse on Saturday. The Brickhouse, Splash-n-Dash and the Bead Shop in Hailey will sell tickets for the Haunted Forest until sold out. Only 600 tickets are available for the event, which did sell out last year. Curtis Bacca to give lecture/demo on waxing

Olympic gold medal wax technician Curtis Bacca of the Waxroom in Ketchum will be present at a lecture for youth on ski wax in conjunction with the "Water" exhibition at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Ketchum-Sun Valley Heritage & Ski Museum at Ketchum's Forest Service Park.

Bacca's talk is part of the museum's ongoing exhibition "The Secret Life of a Snowflake" by Dr. Kenneth Libbrecht. Bacca has won 12 Winter X Games gold medals and two Olympic gold medals. He was also the wax technician for World Cup and pro victories by Kyle Rasmussen, Tommy Moe, Seth Wescott, Lindsey Jacobellis, Nate Holland, Daron Rahlves, Reggie Crist, Zach Crist and Peter Lind.
