Boise's Low-Fi will play the Sun Valley Brewery in Hailey on Friday, Oct. 15, at 8:30 p.m. The three-piece indie-rock band lives by the motto "less is more." The band formed in early 2007 and released its debut LP, "Where You Are," in September of that year.
The band plays catchy tunes with smart lyrics. Todd Sloan on guitar and vocals, Josh Gilmore on bass and Mike Rundle on drums are a tight trio that continues to build a signature sound.
Playing more than 100 shows around the Pacific Northwest since their debut, Low-Fi has played venues including the Taco Bell Arena, Qwest Arena, the Knitting Factory, the Egyptian Theater, Eagle Knoll Winery, Neurolux and the Visual Arts Collective in and around Boise.
In addition, Low-Fi has played with the Young Dubliners, The Helio Sequence, Deer Tick, The Whigs and The Blakes. The band also plays in Portland and Seattle and has played several outdoor festivals including the University District Street Fair in Seattle, Music From Stanley in Stanley, Music in the Mountains in South Fork Landing, Idaho, Summit Fest at Bogus Basin and Rock the Mountain in Centerville, Idaho.
Expect to hear music influenced by Built to Spill, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Archers of Loaf. For a complete listing of music events in the valley, see the Music, Dance and Theater section of the Calendar on Page C10.
