If soul searching is on the mind, then looking no further. The multi-talented Yve Evans & Company will perform her brand of blues, gospel and jazz at a benefit concert for Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Sun Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 6 p.m. A reception will be held with refreshments downstairs in the hospitality area with no-host wine and beer available. Tickets are $20 for adults in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets for children 6-12 are $10 and a family ticket is $50.
The evening will include Evans' band of Bradley Austin Bobo on bass, Michael Simms on guitar and Larry Washington on drums. The show will benefit Our Lady of the Snows' children's and youth music programs. The evening will kick off with the Wood River High School Colla Voce Women's Choir under the direction of Max Stimac, followed by Yve Evans and Company.
Expect to hear Evans' influences—Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McRae, Nina Simone, Della Reese, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin and Rosemary Clooney—throughout the performance. She has recorded five live albums, all in one take only. For details, call 622-3432.
