Walk the Walk

The Advocates' third annual Walk the Walk in Support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a free communitywide march and rally to prevent domestic violence. The walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Hailey Farmers' market on Main Street. For details, call 788-4191.

Community School Barn Sale to offer a treasure trove

The annual Community School Barn Sale at the Sagewillow Barn in Elkhorn will take place Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale will feature furniture, clothing, appliances, sports equipment, electronics and other household items. Attend the Sawtooth Botanical Garden canning class

Learn to can at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden in Ketchum today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The canning class is $15 for garden members and $25 for nonmembers. For details, call 726-9358.

Help Girl Scout Local Troop 379

An English high tea will take place Sunday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Golden Elk on 620 Main St. in Hailey. Proceeds from the tea will assist Girl Scout Local Troop 379 to take a trip to London in June 2011. Tea hats will be available upon request. For tea reservations, call 788-6120.

Submit films for Sun Valley Harvest:
A Gathering of Film Festival

The first deadline for the Sun Valley Harvest: A Gathering of Film Festival is Thursday, Sept. 30.

The festival will feature five-minute films on skiing and riding on Baldy and Dollar mountains. The entry fee is $40. For details on submissions, call 622-2077.

The Advocates Attic Fashion Redesign Contest deadline approaches

The Advocates Attic Fashion Redesign Contest deadline is Friday, Oct. 1. The contest seeks submissions on restructuring and redesigning clothing treasures from the Advocates' Attic Thrift Store in Hailey. The top 20 Attic redesigns will be modeled at the Advocates Fashion Show on Saturday, Oct. 23. For details, call 788-4191.
