Fight Against Drugs Has New Punch

The Blaine County Community Drug Coalition formally announced Thursday afternoon the receipt of a $625,000 grant from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. The Drug Free Communities grant, payable over five years and requiring community matching funds, will allow the coalition to expand from a staff of one to two full-time and two-part time employees. Blaine County Sheriff Walt Femling, left, a member of the coalition’s board of directors, and coalition Executive Director Terry Basolo discuss the grant at a press conference at the Blaine County Public Safety Facility in Hailey.
