George Brunt Steele died peacefully Sept.16, 2010, in Idaho Falls, with sons Richard and John by his side. He was 91.
George was born July 2, 1919, on his parents' farm in Iona. With the exception of his World War II service in the Navy, he lived in Idaho. He married Tressa Jean Smith in November 1944. They were married for 49 years, until her death in 1994.
At the end of the war, he and Tress returned to Idaho Falls where he owned Park Avenue Warehouse Furniture until his retirement at age 65. In the late 1970s, he expanded his business to the Sun Valley area, where he and his family owned a second home, furnishing many condominiums in the area.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Idaho Falls.
