Kudos to strangers

Our Thursday Hiking Group had its faith in humanity renewed earlier this month when three incredible men, Marcus McCune, Dave Stilwill and Bruce Kendall, came to our assistance. We were hiking the Alice Lake trail when one of our hikers went missing and we asked everyone we saw if they had seen him, but no one had.

Although we met only that day, these men took it upon themselves to go far above what anyone might expect from friends, much less strangers—checking various trails our hiker might have taken, extending their trip by hours. It was on their final trip up such a trail that they found our hiker and then helped him get back safely.

They showed great compassion, patience, generosity of time and energy, and a wonderful sense of humor, and we are very grateful to them.
