Gregory Ray DeFord passed away at age 46 in Auburn, Calif., on Sept., 16, 2010, from gunshot wounds.
Gregory was born Aug. 25, 1964, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Gary DeFord and Carma Angelo. He attended school in Idaho, Colorado and Twin Falls. He met and married DeAnn Birdsell, with whom two children were born, Jacqueline and Nathan DeFord.
Gregory loved to snowboard and climb mountains in California and Idaho. He was a master finish carpenter who constructed, remodeled and finished many homes in the Wood River Valley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gary DeFord, grandparents Perl and Rosa DeFord and James and Ada Grimm. He is survived by DeAnn DeFord; daughter, Jacqueline DeFord, and son, Nathan DeFord, of Weimer, Calif.; mother, Carmen Angelo, and stepfather and friend Ron Angelo of Hailey, Idaho; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place in California. A memorial service will be held in the Wood River Valley in the summer of 2011.
