Dog story has happy ending

We all need stories that warm our hearts and I recently witnessed one and wanted to share.

I was about to leave the Sawtooth Animal Center just before closing when a young man, 19-year-old Nick, walked in wearing biking shorts and T-shirt carrying a dog in a sling made from his jacket. He proceeded to tell the vet staff that he had found the dog about eight miles up Muldoon Canyon while on a bike ride and that it had taken him close to three hours to bike out carrying the dog in the make-shift sling. The dog, probably an Aussie-shephard cross, must have weighed at least 30 pounds.

I was so impressed by this wonderful young man—he totally made my day and I am sure that he will make yours when you read this. I just found out that thanks to Nick, there was the happiest of reunions between the dog and its very grateful owners.
