Pizzeria fight leads to arrest

Man accused of punching former boss

Express Staff Writer

A 26-year-old Hailey man was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly punching his former boss Sunday night at McClain's Pizzeria in downtown Hailey.

Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said Jordan D. Ward was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of battery. He was apprehended a few hours after the altercation, which occurred at the pizzeria about 10:30 p.m.

Ward is accused of battering Michael F. Diem, head chef at The Valley Club. Gunter said Ward had recently been fired by Diem.

Gunter said the altercation started out with "bad-mouthing" and then turned violent.

"Apparently, Jordan started the fight and was the aggressor," Gunter said.
