Rec District offers youth soccer

For kids ages 3-11


School is in session, and Wood River Valley parents are thinking about fall soccer. The Blaine County Recreation District is offering three programs.

Registration is currently being accepted for boys and girls interested in BCRD Tykes Soccer Development (ages 3-5), BCRD Kindergarten Soccer (ages 5-6) and BCRD Fall Youth Soccer (grades 1-6).

Fees are generally lower if paid online at bcrd.org. A Players' Clinic is Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Nelson Field. Program descriptions:

Fall Youth Soccer (grades 1-6): Practices start Sept. 13-14 and each team will practice twice a week for about 60 minutes, either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday between 4-7 p.m.

Practice locations in Hailey are Deerfield, Foxmoor, Keefer, Woodside and Nelson fields. Games will be played at Nelson Field in Hailey, Saturdays only between 9-2, on Sept. 18 and 25, plus Oct. 2, 16 and 23.

Cost is $60 through the BCRD office ($65 after Sept. 9) or $55 online. If you don't hear from your coach by Sept. 13, call Brad Musbach at 578-5458.

Kindergarten Soccer: A clinic-style program (no teams) meets at Nelson Field Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Sept. 13-Oct. 20. Just show up at the field. Cost is $60 through BCRD, $55 online.

Tykes Soccer Development: For boys and girls ages 3-5 and parents or guardians. The clinic-style program meets Wednesdays 4-4:45 p.m. from Sept. 15-Oct. 20 at Nelson Field. You won't be contacted by a coach, just show up. Cost is $50 through BCRD, $45 online.
