Summer may have concluded but music never stops. This week the valley will host several music performances including a free show at Sego restaurant on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 7-10 p.m. with Caitlin Canty. Canty will play acoustic guitar and loads of original songs. Her soulful voice is perfect for her well-crafted lyrics.
She performs in coffeehouses, rowdy bars, restored theaters, music halls and festivals around New York City and beyond. She has opened for Dar Williams, Duncan Sheik and John Hammond. Canty will play alongside Darlingside, David Poe and Rachel Loshak.
Her fans and followers compare her to Patty Griffin, Neko Case and Norah Jones. Prior to her latest album, "Neon Streets" (2010), Canty independently produced several EPs and one full-length album, "Green" (2007), which she recorded and mixed in her home studio.
