The Sun Valley Guide’s Best of the Valley special issue is on newsstands throughout the valley.

The votes have been counted. The results are in. The voices of 2,665 residents and visitors of the Wood River Valley have been heard. This week, Express Publishing is releasing the results of the 2010 Best of the Valley survey.

In a special edition of the Sun Valley Guide magazine, free on newsstands now, the answers to 123 burning questions about people, places and possibilities in the Wood River Valley are revealed. Discover where to go for the best sushi, who mixes up the best cocktails, where to take the best hike and whom to call when your computer blows up.

New categories in this year's survey include Best Overall Restaurant, Best Customer Service, Best Overall Retailer, Best New Business and Best Business. Each category honors the top three winners, who are awarded a gold, silver or bronze Best of the Valley medal.

This is the second year the Sun Valley Guide has conducted the Best of the Valley survey. Participation has more than doubled, from 1,100 survey participants in 2009 to 2,665 in 2010, making this one of the most comprehensive surveys ever published in the valley.

The Best of the Valley survey was taken online in April. It was delivered through the leading survey tool on the web, SurveyMonkey. This method of collecting data is tamper-proof—no ballot stuffing was possible—producing accurate results. The questions were open-ended, not multiple-choice, so participants could fill in any answer they desired.

The special issue of the Sun Valley Guide includes a list of all the winners, as well as feature stories on some. Stories include a peek inside one of the most hotly contested categories, Best Pizza, an interview with Best Entertainer, Mike Murphy, an homage to the valley's best service personnel and profiles of Char Roth (Best Teacher), Jeff Gunter (Best City/County Staffer), Brooke Bonner (Best Volunteer) and Cristina Ceccatelli Cook (Best Caterer).

Pick up a copy today or call 726-8060. The magazine will also be published in full online next week at www.bestofthevalley.org.
