Marc Mast part of program

Our effort to make Sun Valley the nation's third certified Olympic and Paralympic Nordic skiing training center, reported in "Sun Valley: Olympic Destination?" on Aug. 20, is truly a collaborative one. Unfortunately, we failed to highlight one of the key sponsors of this effort: Marc Mast, of the Wood River Ability Program.

Marc has been working with disabled athletes for a number of years. Most recently, the Wood River Ability Program produced four Nordic Para-Olympians at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, where Andy Soule earned a bronze medal in the 4.5K biathlon pursuit.

The Economic Development Corp. is proud to work with Marc, as well as those from the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, Blaine County Recreation and any other interested local organizations, in making a successful application for official USOC training center designation. Anyone interested in volunteering on a working group or steering committee should contact Harry Griffith at svharryski@hotmail.com.
