For an engaging event called Art House 2010, Hailey residents Jenn and Richard Rush will transform their house into the environs of a hip metropolitan art gallery.

For the fourth year in a row, the Rushes will move out all their furniture and move in a selection of art from some of the valley's most talented artists. Art House 2010 will take place on Friday, Aug. 27, from 5-10 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 28, from 2-6 p.m., at the Rushes' home at 203 West Croy St. in Hailey.

"Last year, about 800 people showed up throughout the two days," said Art House creator Jenn Rush. "It's a very chic event and a wonderful party, and it's fun to get dressed up for it."

Art House 2010 will feature photography, sculpture and enamel on boards, as well as abstract, encaustic and oil paintings. This year, the event will provide artworks priced from $75 to $5,000.

"It started out with three friends and a party," Rush said. "It was so much fun, more artists were added and the party doubled in size."

Rush has been approached by many artists in the valley to be a part of the show, but she had to cut back to eight artists this year to make the weekend more manageable.

"It has become the summer art event of Hailey," Rush said. "It's free with cocktails and music, and visitors can dress as they please."

Rush said that every year all the artists included in the Art House exhibitions have sold a piece or several pieces. Art House 2010 will include Richard Rush, Susan Hall, Sara Rogers, Dennis Rexroad, Jennifer Jaros Jacoby, Sara Davies, Julie Singer and Joe Castle.
