Patriotic bikers stand with Bowe

Some 200 motorcyclists and other supporters of captive Army soldier Bowe Bergdahl gathered at a rally outside Zaney’s Coffee House in Hailey on Saturday. The Idaho POW-MIA Awareness Rally Association organized the event in honor of Bergdahl, a native of the Hailey area who has been held captive by Taliban militants in Afghanistan since June 30, 2009. POW-MIA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the financial support and public awareness of prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action. Bowe’s father, Bob Bergdahl, center, flanked by his wife, Jani, accepts a gift from the POW-MIA group, which held a similar event last August. “A year later, and we are more positive now than we were a year ago,” he told the Express. “As the war wraps down, everybody is trying to find their place, and that’s what happens in conflict. Staying positive, I see Bowe as an ambassador in chains.”
