I tried to post this as an online comment on the column by Chris Millspaugh, but it would not allow it, so I decided to send it over via e-mail.
Wow, it's a shame how closed-minded this author is. I am from the beautiful city of Philadelphia and living in the valley these days. When I read this article, I was almost laughing to myself. The author already had a negative attitude going into the event and could not even enjoy the wedding of his son and daughter-in-law. Sad.
Philadelphia always gets a bad view because it is not New York. Guess what—it is not New York or any other city. There is so much of art, music and American history roots to embrace. The nightlife, restaurants and sports teams rival most cities. Anyone who has an open mind and has been there would surely agree.
Back to the author—maybe you should not leave the valley, as the grumpy tone in your article suggests. Stick to your organized routine of eating the same meals every day at the same exact time and writing biased (non-entertaining) articles. Dear Idaho Mountain Express: Is this is really the weekly opinion you are standing behind?
A wedding with family, drinks, cigars and the Phillies sounds pretty good to me. But I'm biased.
