Summer in Sun Valley is a time to behold the talented performers who live in the area. They include the Main Street Cabaret, valley professionals and amateur performers who will take the stage at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum on Thursday, July 29, Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31. Produced by Laughing Stock Theater Co., the performances will include a benefit show on Friday, July 30.

The benefit show will include entertainment by Herb London. London is a multi-talented individual who is a publisher, writer and intellectual.

"Years ago, I made a record 'We Are Not Going Steady,'" London said. "I sing lots of [Elvis] Presley songs."

London has a subtle but poignant humor about life and the world we all live in. As the head of a higher education think tank, London consistently talks and writes about the state of the world.

"I think of the world as a canvas, and every day I think about what colors I want to use and it's a new way of looking at the world every day," he said. "There are lots of dangers in the world, and I am an optimist, and I think of how to solve problems."

In addition to London's performance, Keith Moore and Patsy Wygle will perform "Therapy" from "A New Brain." Patty Parsons Tewson will sing a medley from "Sweeney Todd" and "Charlie Chaplin" and Sue Noel will sing "Pure Imagination" from "Willie Wonke."

Megan Mahoney will sing from "Songs For a New World." Bruce Hostetler and Freddie Harris will perform "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" and Sarah Gorby will sing "Wilkommen" from "Cabaret." Also performing will be Joy Bond and Dean Cerutti who will sing a duet "I Remember It Well" from "Gigi" and Stephanie Feder will sing "Make Someone Happy." All the men in the show will sing "With a Little Bit of Luck" from "My Fair Lady" and all the women sing "I'm Not at All in Love" from "Pajama Game."

The Friday night special performance by London is a benefit for Keith Moore, a director, actor, singer and teacher for the nexstage Theatre, to help with his medical expenses due to an illness. Each evening the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Drinks and appetizers will be available throughout the performance, which will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for Thursday and Saturday. Tickets for the Friday benefit are $35. For details, call 726-4857.
