Business community gets board member

Jane Rizzo chosen for 4th position

Express Staff Writer

Jane Rizzo will represent the Ketchum business community on the marketing board known as Sun Valley Resort Area Marketing Inc., which is being created to take over marketing of the resort area from the Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau.

The board made the announcement on Tuesday.

The three appointed board members chose Rizzo from a list of nominees provided by the business community.

"We received an excellent list of recommended candidates from the local business community," said board member Jim Knight.

Rizzo spent more than 20 years in senior marketing roles at the Gap and Ann Taylor clothing stores. More recently, Rizzo founded and ran River Ranch Clothing in Ketchum.

She's currently vice president of client services for Coldwell Banker. She was responsible for launching the luxury vacation rentals and property management business for Coldwell Banker. Rizzo and her family have lived in the Wood River Valley for seven years.

The marketing board is to be composed of five members, each posting a résumé boasting resort and tourism marketing experience. Each city now has its representative. Sun Valley's is Jim Knight, Ketchum's is Jake Peters, and Sun Valley Resort General Manager Tim Silva represents the resort.

The fifth member will be chosen at-large from the community. The board said this decision will be made in the coming weeks.
