Elevate 9, Principal Recruiting 8

After getting whomped by 22 runs in the first game of its Wednesday doubleheader, and facing the prospect of a winless regular season, Elevate pulled out a walk-off humdinger victory over Principal thanks to Brad Hennessy. It looked all Principal early, though, as the recruiters scored 4 runs on 9 hits in the first two innings and went ahead 5-2 after three. Elevate snapped out of it with 5 runs in the fifth on a leadoff double by Cooper Minnis, RBI triple by Carrie Philbrick, single by Lauren Zondag, RBI double by Hennessy and RBI grounder by Larkin Brown. Now trailing 8-5, Principal tied it 8-8 in the seventh as Jamie Claiborn (3 hits, 2 doubles, 2 runs) smashed a two-out, 2-run HR. But in the home seventh singles by Philbrick and Matt Siegel (2 runs) preceded Hennessy's one-out game-winning double. Elevate: Travis Thelen 2 hits (double) and 2 runs. Principal: Geoff Gardner 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Sue Mulcahy 3 hits and 2 runs.

Firefighters 12, KECH 11

Firefighters led 6-0 after two innings, but KECH stormed back with 9 runs on 14 hits in the third, fourth and fifth frames for a 9-7 lead. RBI doubles by Matt Christian and Keith Potter sparked a 3-run Firefighters fifth turning the deficit into a 10-9 lead. Then the winners tacked on 2 runs in the sixth ignited by a leadoff double by Jeff Bailey. KECH got a run back in the seventh after Annie Byerly (3 hits, 3 runs) led off with a single and scored, but KECH stranded the potential tying and go-ahead runs at third and second to end the tight game. Firefighters: Matt Jaksetic 2 doubles. KECH: Lenny Joseph 2 doubles and 2 runs, Danny Maloney 4 hits and 2 runs, Shannon Flavin 2 hits (double) and 2 runs.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 24, Elevate 2 (5 innings)

Lefty's pounded out 24 runs on 21 hits in its four at-bats, while limiting Elevate to 4 hits. Lefty's: Dave Hausmann 3 hits (2 doubles), 3 runs and 4 RBI, Jeff Burrell 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 RBI, Wendy Speth 3 hits and 3 runs, Kyle Rushton 3 hits (triple) and 3 runs, Nicole Buchwalter 2 hits and 3 runs, Tony Mallane 2 hits (double) and 3 runs.

Casino 21, Principal Recruiting 10

League-leading Casino (25 hits) led 7-6 after a hectic first inning that featured 13 runs and 11 hits between the two teams. But Casino kept up the pressure, scoring in each at-bat. Casino: Cody Lampl 4 hits (3 doubles) and 5 runs, Brenda Johnson and Nic Nottingham 4 hits (double) and 2 runs apiece, Craig Morse 4 hits (2 doubles) and 2 runs, Wade Port 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Jill Morse 3 hits, Mike Torres 2 hits.
