A 20-year-old Ketchum man was issued two citations after allegedly striking and injuring a Florida woman with his bicycle late Saturday night on the bike path along Sun Valley Road.

Sun Valley Assistant Police Chief Mike Crawford said Cameron Nord was issued citations for allegedly riding at night without a light and failing to notify approaching pedestrians.

Crawford said the accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. near the bike trail intersection with Bitterroot Road. He said Nord was southwest bound on the trail when he struck two pedestrians who were walking in the opposite direction.

Crawford said Cynthia Burns, a 46-year-old Florida woman, suffered a "laceration on her chin" and complained of "back pain and dizziness." She was transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.

"It's not the first time we've had something like this happen," Crawford said. "He didn't see them until he was right on them."
