Glen Raymond Muirbrook


"Murph" Glen Raymond Muirbrook, 54, of Aberdeen, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in a work-related accident.

Murph was born Feb. 24, 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho to Marie Violet Edna Johnson and Galyn "Mike" Muirbrook.

He attended grade school in Grandview and high school in Aberdeen, continuing on to get his Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Idaho, and his master's degree in Medical Ethics at the University of Washington. He lived in Sun Valley for 23 years, and a few years in Seattle, Wash. He had just moved back to Aberdeen in April.

Murph married Monica Peck. They were later divorced. He later married Toni Jenner and they were also divorced.

While in the Sun Valley area he started and operated a recycling business, Glass Business and radiant heat business. He spent many hours volunteering his time to the Hospice group in Sun Valley.

Most recently he tended bar at the Silver Dollar Bar in Bellevue, Idaho. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, skiing, fishing and woodworking. He loved spending time visiting and entertaining his friends and family.

Murph is survived by his mother, Marie (Orville) Mathewson of Idaho Falls; brother, Paul (Pam) Muirbrook of Aberdeen; sisters, Gail (Rich) Wallace of Post Falls and Peggy (Dave) Bain of Springfield; and ten nieces and nephews.

Murph is preceded in death by his father, Gayln "Mike" Muirbrook; sister, Irene Vostrez; and brother-in-law, Marvin Vostrez.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 18, at the First Mennonite and Fellowship Hall at 381 W. Washington Avenue in Aberdeen, Idaho. Following the service, the family met with friends and relatives at Paul and Pam Muirbrook's home at 140 S. 6th East, Aberdeen. Services were under the care of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.

Family suggests in lieu of flowers to donate to a charity of your choice. There will be another celebration of life at a later date in the Valley. Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@hawkerfuneralhome.com.
