John E. Caine

John E. Caine was born in Ashland, Kentucky on Oct. 9, 1924. He passed away at home July 9, 2010, with Marilyn, his loving wife of 63 years, at his side.

His enduring love of sports and young people resulted in a lifelong career in coaching and athletic administration.

His strong sense of duty and love of country led to service in the U. S. Army for three years in WWII, and nearly nine years as an officer in the Army Reserve.

A sense of civic responsibility was evident in memberships in various service organizations, especially the Ketchum-Sun Valley Rotary Club where was fondly known as "Coach".

A true love of the Lord manifested itself in serving on two sessions of the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood during its rebuilding.

The total goodness of the man showed through as a loving husband, father of two daughters and a son, and grandfather of two granddaughters.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.

Arrangements are under the care of Wood River Chapel of Hailey (www.woodriverchapel.com).
