Registration is underway at spondoro.com for the eighth Galena Grinder Whit Henry Memorial mountain bike race Saturday, July 24 at Galena Lodge north of Ketchum.
The Knobby Tire Series event features 45-mile, 22.5-mile, 17.5-mile and 10-mile courses, plus Trailblazers. The marathon races at the long distance start Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by Pros, Category 1/2/3 and Juniors/Trailblazers at 10:30 a.m. on shorter courses.
Early registration ranges from $20 to $56 depending on class, with race day entry $9 more. Awards will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the lodge. There is a cash purse and great prizes.
The race is held in memory of Whit Henry, a 2001 Wood River High School graduate who died July 2, 2003 in an accident on U.S. 20 between Timmerman Hill and Fairfield. He became a passionate cyclist before his untimely death at 20.
