Lincoln County cares, too

I was interested to read about the upcoming supplemental levy your community is holding in support of the Blaine Manor skilled-nursing facility.

As the administrator of your neighboring Lincoln County Care Center in Shoshone, I am writing in full support of this levy and to lend a personal observation: Every care center and care provider in the industry has a challenging and yet very rewarding task to perform on a daily basis. Those that do not work in our profession cannot possibly understand the challenges of providing quality care and the balancing act of meeting all of the requirements to do so. In that effort we are all united.

I represent all of us at Lincoln County Care Center and at our parent company, BRP Health Management Systems Inc., in stating our complete support of Blaine Manor and its community in keeping the care center open and providing great quality care for its residents and community.

Upon reading your article, I considered responding directly to the negative comments that were made toward our care center, touting the same as a reason to keep the Manor open, but decided against it. Such comments are divisive at best and are never conducive to the cooperation and teamwork that must exist in the health-care community.

I want to convey to the community our full support of our neighbor, Blaine Manor, and this supplemental levy. Congratulations to your community, who, similar to ours, places such value on the care of its citizens.
