Sun Valley Resort's senior sales executive, Brent Gillette, has been promoted to director of sales.
Resort General Manager Tim Silva announced the move Thursday.
"I am confident Mr. Gillette will provide the sales leadership and experience necessary to position us advantageously as we move forward," Silva said.
Gillette started with the resort in 1981 and didn't work in sales until 1991 when he became the Idaho sales representative. He became senior sales executive 10 years later.
The previous director of sales, Jack Sibbach, will retain his two other titles as director of marketing and public relations for the resort and will still oversee the department. Sibbach, resort spokesman, said Gillette would handle the day-to-day sales operations.
"Brent's not replacing anyone," Sibbach said.
According to a news release, Gillette will supervise Sun Valley's team of four full-time sales executives who collectively share nearly 40 years of sales experience for the resort.
"I am looking forward to this opportunity," Gillette said. "I think Sun Valley has more diversified amenities than any resort in the West."
