Bike racers follow the Mile Long Parade

On Sunday in Hailey

Cyclists are looking forward to the Blaine County Recreation District's Hailey Fourth of July criterium, to be held on a downtown four-corner course Sunday, July 4 following the Mile Long Parade.

All ages and levels will compete on road bikes on the spectator-friendly course. The mass start and high-speed cornering will make for an exciting event.

New this year is a Cruiser Crit category open to all levels—as long as you ride a cruiser bike and wear a helmet.

Registration ($35 entry, youth 12-and-under free) opens Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in front of WiseGuy Pizza and KB's in Hailey. There will be cash preems and medals for kids.

The Group 3 Shimano Youth Race (9 and under) starts about 1 p.m. Sunday and racing continues all afternoon ending with the Men's 4/5, Masters B Group and Juniors 30-minute final event about 3:45 p.m.

Road & Dirt and Powerhouse are presenting the race. The race needs volunteers for registration and course safety. Visit bcrd.org or call 578-2273.
