Fashion divas long to sit with the likes of Vogue editor Anna Wintour and celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker in the front-row seats of the catwalks for New York City Fashion Week every February. Among this year's front-row patrons was Latoya Headley, 25, from Montecito, Calif. Headley had her fashion fantasy wish come true with the help of Santa Barbara's Dream Foundation and saw Diane von Furstenberg's collection strut pass her first-hand, allowing her to experience true fashion bliss this past February.
Furstenberg was an integral part of Headley's dream before she passed away on June 6 from a very aggressive form of brain cancer. The Dream Foundation grants wishes to adults battling life-threatening illness. In support of its efforts, the Grabher Family Foundation and Panache of Sun Valley will host a fashion show and cocktail reception on Wednesday, July 7, at 6 p.m. at the home of Marc and Elisabeth Avery in Warm Springs. Tickets are $80. For details, e-mail BrisaAyub@gmail.com or call 622-4228.
The fashion show will include a performance by pop singer Taylor Dane.
"I have been participating with Dream Foundation charity events since their inception," Dane said. "When I sing on behalf of this organization, I can honestly say I sing from my heart. I'm looking forward to spending some time in Sun Valley and participating in this beautiful fashion event."
Dream Foundation founder Thomas Rollerson has a special connection to Sun Valley.
"I love Sun Valley not only because it's home to my nephew, but it's home to my heart for the depth of compassion that resides within its community," Rollerson said. "Sun Valley is visually beautiful year round, but I find it emotionally beautiful for the diversity of its residents, who all seem unified in the greater good."
An auction at the event will include tickets to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and a Four Seasons travel package to Bali.
