Symphony caters to the rich

As best I understand the program for the summer at the symphony, I, locally lodged for the summer, cannot get a seat inside to hear Perleman for any price other than a $2,500 donation, which gets me two tickets to anything all summer. I must stand in line at some east gate for an hour or more.

Now, I am sorry, but to me this is serious discrimination against those of us with modest income who dearly love to hear our favorite musicians but are more than happy to pay $100 for a seat or whatever the market will bear, as we do in Tanglewood or Aspen.

The theory is nice—free, but something is seriously out of whack with your solution. Not fair to the middle class.
